Ron is a native of South Dakota and a long time resident of Rapid City. After graduating from Rapid City High school, Ron joined the U.S. Navy and after serving 4 years and 1 tour of duty in Vietnam he returned home. He then attended National College of Business for the next 4 years.

Ron began working for Southwestern Investment Company as a Loan Officer. Later, transferring to Barclay’s Bank and then to a local Credit Union. After 14 years in the financial industry, he started his own business and enjoyed success for the next 12 years. Upon selling his business and a short retirement, he became a licensed Realtor.

Ron is very active in the Rapid City Community, serving over 2 years on the Rapid City Planning Commission before being elected as a City Councilman for the City of Rapid City. Ron is currently serving his 6th term in office in addition to serving on numerous boards and committees in the city. He is married and has two grown children.
